Planters’ Haven by Sime Darby Property

Planters’ Haven, a whopping 360 acre development comprising orchard homes will be launching its next phase with built ups at about 5000sf. The development was initially launched at about 10 years ago. I remember reading about this interesting development in some property forum sometime back and was mesmerised by it’s offering…a place that would be extremely awesome to own when one retires someday.

Last year together with Canon, they organised a photo taking competition at Planters’ Haven site and the photos that were churned out were simply breathtaking. Pics above are some of the winning entries.

Planters’ Haven is located near Nilai town about 10km to the east of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang and 18km to the south of the new Putrajaya. Access from the KL-Seremban highway is via the Nilai Interchange, which is 25 minutes from the Sungai Besi toll plaza adjacent to the North-South Highway.

More information on the development at http://www.planters-haven.com/. There’s an old article dated back to 1997 with some interesting pricing after the jump.

City & Country: A home in paradise orchards
Copyright© 1997, The Edge Communications Sdn BhdMore than half of the orchard homes costing at least RM1.3 million under Phase 3A of Planters’ Haven near Nilai in Negri Sembilan have been pre-booked, says its developer Sime Darby Land Sdn Bhd.

Tunku Putra Badlishah Tunku Annuar, company manager (marketing and sales) , says 39 of the homes with lot sizes measuring 1.0 acre to 1.6 acres will be launched either next month or in June.

Despite the property downturn and tightened loans to the property sector, Tunku Badlishah remains confident of demand for the orchard homes. To encourage purchasers to recommend their buys to their friends, the owner referral programme has been introduced (see box).

Once a pristine and commercial durian orchard, Planters’ Haven now offers what its developer calls true country living at the realm of luxury. When completed, the project will comprise 426 bungalows and orchard homes.
The freehold sites and built-up units in Phase 3 are said to “afford magnificent, sweeping vistas and overlook the picturesque 8-acre recreational lake and clubhouse site”.

Orchard homes purchasers can choose from seven floor plans and two facades — Mediterranean and Tropical — with built-ups of between 4,900 sq ft and 6,500 sq ft. There are a minimum of four bedrooms and bathrooms, a family room, separate living and dining rooms, separate dry and wet kitchens, maid’s room and bathroom, utility room and a two-car covered garage in all the floor plans.

A Home Design Centre has also been established to facilitate the customisation of internal finishes, the cost to be borne by the purchaser.

Phase 1 of Planters’ Haven introduced in June 1996 offered 44 orchard homesteads (land only) priced between RM480,000 and RM770,000 each. These lots were quickly snapped up.

Last July, 51 orchard homes were launched under Phase 2 from RM1.3 million onwards. Both the orchard homesteads and the orchard homes have lot sizes ranging from 1.0 acre to 1.6 acres. At presstime, about 35 per cent of the 51 orchard homes in Phase 2 were reported sold.

Planters’ Haven is about 25 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur and in proximity to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Putrajaya.

According to the developer, a RM12 million landscaping budget has been set aside to maintain the natural environment of the existing orchard and to beautify areas like the main entryway, roadway, park land and the clubhouse.
Features and amenities at the enclave include a clubhouse with multi-purpose hall, gymnasium, eatery and washroom facilities, swimming pool and deck area, tennis courts, putting green, recreational lake with fishing pier/dock, jogging and cycling trail with par course along the lake perimeter.

There will also be a playground adjacent to the lake, surau, commercial centre, proposed clinic, perimeter fencing around entire community, landscaped entrance with security gatehouse, state-of-the-art fibre-optic infrastructure and extensive open areas.Free two-year fruit tree maintenance programmes (for orchard lots only) and mature fruit trees (on certain lots) are also provided.

“Step into 360 acres of paradise abundant with fruit trees and teeming with colourful birds and butterflies. You’ll immediately notice the quiet serenity and clean air tinged with the faint scent of ripening fruits.” Such is the invitation of Planters’ Haven.

This is a very good example of a Malaysian Home…in the olden days, a Malay garden is only disinguishible by its useful function as a garden that grows food for the occupants….having vegetables, fruits, chillies and etc in ur very own garden. Another good project is Hijauan Heights near seremban…same concept too but with more activity places for residents.

@Markus I get your drift on where you were going there. I often think of my past and use it as a means to analyze where I am and where I want to get to. Where I struggel is balancing it all out. How do you guys balance things out?
